Taking a Break
Life back in Myrtle Beach has taken me in several directions other than weaving my Ojos, but I've been making Ojos de Dios on and off since 1970 or so, and I'm not about to stop now. I've also taken a renewed interest in website building, and plan on expanding and rewriting my Ojos-de-Dios.com website both to improve the site, and for practice in possibly building a part-time profession in web design.
Meanwhile, I've left my site in the hands of my oldest son Abel, who is building a career in web design, and doing quite well at it. Likely we'll work together on it for a while yet. I've also got a website about Desert Big Horn Sheep, and a whole new website to develop for my proposed web design business, www.keep-it-simplewebdesign.com.
I've also got a long delayed novel I really feel the need to go ahead and finish, and a few other writing ideas that may well keep me busy. There will undoubtedly be times though, when the perfect match for my creative energies will be to sit and slow spin out a large creative Ojo de Dios. I'll keep you posted!

Back in Myrtle Beach, SC
I've left my artistically inspiring Joshua Tree, and returned to my home of Spiritual fellowship, near the Avatar Meher Baba Center for the Western Hemisphere at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sales of Ojos de Dios have not been enough to meet my needs, so I'm driving taxi four days a week, but still hope to expand my ojos to ever higher artistic levels. I expect I'll be ordering soon some new yarns, turning back to wool, as I used for a while way back in the 1970's. Traveling through New Mexico on the way here, I'm inspired to really try and achieve a more subtle blend of colors, and create some really creative designs that live only in my mind now. I'll also try to be more active blogging.

Two new Ojos, and a whole new pattern
Once again staying on the border of the Joshua Tree National Park, I've created two new ojos that I'm very happy with.
Click the photos to see full size

This first Ojo, which I've called *Full Circle*, is perhaps the culmination of a great many ojos spun into this basic pattern. I fully imagine I'll be duplicating it quickly if it sells soon.

This second Ojo, starts a new series, with less colors per ojo, and a slightly more complex design. This ojo sells for less than the earlier 24 inch ojos, as there is no embroidery work in the border. Most likely also, I'll get a bit more flexable with the basic design framework than with the earlier series.
All comments welcome!

going with red
I had a custom order to do based on the 36 inch ojo, Fire of Life, but ended up changing it so much, it became a new design of its own. I also had fun in that I was able to deliver the ojo in person, and both the woman who ordered it and her husband were extremely enthusiastic about my work. Besides ordering this ojo for herself, her enthusiasm spilled over to a sister, who ordered at the same time, and I was able to leave her sister's ojo at her house, where her sister planned on picking it up on an upcoming visit.
Click on the photo too see the webpage for this ojo, which I'm calling *Born of Fire*.

Also, making this ojo coincided with a new fascination with the color red, after ordering a few variations of red yarn. Certainly the fireworks like design embroidered into the border was a major break from my long standing border design of outward pointing *V* shapes. Expect more *brighten your room with fiery reds* coming soon.
Peace and Love to all,
Jay

A 12 inch Ojo de Dios
Leading up to the holiday season, thinking people might want smaller ojos for gifts, I plan a series of 12 inch ojos. I'm not sure just how far I'll get with this, however. Right now I've got two custom orders to make up, and I've also started a new website for my second career as wildlife photographer of Desert Bighorn Sheep of Joshua Tree National Park.
Click on the photo too see the webpage for the first of the new smaller ojos, which I'm calling *Shedding Light*.

The new version of the website is still, slowly, in the works. When (hopefully very soon) it does go online, There will be a two week sale with all ojos marked down 20%, and the ojo of the week an additional 25% off.
Peace and Love to all,
